Local Trivia

Older than confederation itself, stands the Wheat Sheaf Tavern at King and Bathurst and it’s one of Toronto’s oldest pubs.  There is a long-standing but not documented rumour that a secret tunnel was built by soldiers at nearby Fort York.  This rumoured tunnel was supposed to have surfaced in the basement of the Wheat Sheaf and allowed soldiers to go out for an evening of drinking without raising any suspicions.
